Flagger

The job of the flagger in a temporary traffic control zone is central to the safety of everyone working in or passing through the zone. Flaggers must understand the hazards of the traffic control zone as well as their function in helping to keep the area safe. They need to understand the setup of traffic control zones as well as the proper positioning of warning signs, tapers, and flagger stations. They must also recognize their responsibilities and know how to use hand-signaling devices to keep traffic moving and prevent accidents
