Falls from heights and on the same level (a working surface) are among the leading causes of serious work-related injuries and deaths. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) estimates that, on average, approximately 202,066 serious (lost-workday) injuries and 345 fatalities occur annually among workers directly affected by the final standard. Workers need to be trained to recognize and control potential fall hazards.
This training resource is to train workers in general industry exposed to or possibly exposed to fall hazards at 4 feet (ft) or more above a lower level.
When the training is completed, trainees will be able to:

- Describe fall hazard controls.
- Inspect personal fall protection systems.
- Correctly use fall protection systems.
- Rescue after the fall.
