Introduction to Rough Terrain Forklift Safety

Most forklift accidents, whether they involve regular forklifts operated indoors or rough terrain forklifts operated mainly outdoors, are the result of operator error. Lack of knowledge, lack of skill, or lack of judgment send thousands of forklift operators and other workers to the emergency room every year. Some don’t survive their injuries.

Because of the serious hazards involved in forklift operations and the potentially fatal outcomes of forklift accidents, all forklift operators are to be properly trained and tested to make sure they are capable of performing their duties safely and effectively.
