Although most safety programs and research center around safe work practices and engineering solutions to safety and health problems, those strategies are not likely to have the desired effect if you don’t also have an effective way to encourage employees to engage in safe behaviors every day on the job. Behaviorial safety programs can help provide that essential element. But in order for these programs to be effective, your supervisors must understand what influences employee behavior and how they can change employee behavior to promote workplace safety and prevent accidents and illness on the job.

This training also offers an extra benefit. Supervisors can use everything they learn in this session to influence employee behavior in other ways as well. The same principles can be applied to other key job issues such as performance quality, attendance, and teamwork.
