Working in Hot Conditions

When the temperature in the workplace is hot, it can push an employee’s body temperature above the normal healthy range. The body responds with built-in cooling mechanisms, but these don’t always work when high temperatures combine with high humidity and heavy physical work to create a hazardous situation that can easily lead to heat-related illness.

The purpose of this training program is to prepare employees who work in hot conditions to recognize the hazards and take effective precautions to prevent heat stress on the job.

When the training is complete, employees will be able to:

  • Understand how hot conditions affect the body.
  • Recognize symptoms of heat illness.
  • Take precautions to reduce the risk of heat illness.
